How do I create an account?

Important: For a user account, only a valid email address and password of your choice is required. Please read our Privacy Statement and our page on Data Protection to learn more about the data retention and its purposes.

Steps to create an ECB Data Portal account

  1. Go to Create new account.
  2. Enter your email address.
  3. Enter and confirm a password.
  4. Select the context in which you will use ECB Data Portal from the drop-down menu.
  5. Please read through the data privacy statement and acknowledge by ticking the box I acknowledge.
  6. Click submit.
  7. Open the verification email and click the link provided, or copy it to your browser's address bar and press Enter.

Your account will be activated after you have confirmed your email address. You will then be able to save and create ECB Data Portal content.

Choosing a strong password

To create a strong password for your ECB Data Portal account, certain requirements must be fulfilled. The password field has a maximum length of 128 characters. Passwords must:

  • be longer than ten characters;
  • include both upper and lower-case letters;
  • include at least one digit;
  • include at least one special character (!#$%&()*+,-/:;<=>?_.).
