The ECB Data Portal is now the official source for data

Today, the ECB Data Portal becomes the ECB’s main statistical data delivery service, replacing the public Statistical Data Warehouse (SDW), the euro area statistics website and the ECBstatsApp.

While the ECB Data Portal is now the official source for data disseminated by the ECB, the SDW will continue to run in parallel until the end of September 2023. This is to ensure that you can smoothly migrate all your data processes to the new portal.

Via the new portal, you will be able to access data and statistics in a more intuitive and user-friendly way. It uses the same structures, time-series keys, dataset identifiers, data, metadata and codifications as the Statistical Data Warehouse. Several new features have been introduced to make it easier to discover, find, analyse and reuse data.

Watch the video below to find out more about the new functionalities. Visit our help pages to learn more about the portal’s features and functionalities. If you have an SDW user account, learn how to migrate an SDW account to the ECB Data Portal.

Further information on the SDW REST-API

The SDW web service API will be repointed to the ECB Data Portal API for at least a year. User requests will be automatically redirected from https://sdw-wrest.ecb.europa.eu to https://data-api.ecb.europa.eu. API request syntax will remain unchanged, as the data structures and codifications remain the same.
