Attributes

Attributes is a descriptive framework for the dataset (i.e. metadata) that provides qualitative information about a specific statistical object. It can also be considered as additional metadata that are useful for understanding or processing the observed value or the context of the dataset or time series in the data structure definition.

Examples of an attribute include a note on the observation, a confidentiality status, the unit of measure used or the title of a series. In the ECB Data Portal the attributes linked to the time series can be attached at different levels.

  • Observation-level attributes
  • Time series-level attributes
  • Sibling-level attributes
  • Dataset-level attributes
